A clogged sink or clogged drain is one of the most common problems you can encounter in a household.
The main cause of a clogged kitchen sink is usually grease that accumulates on the pipe walls. Food residue can also contribute to the problem. In the case of bathroom sinks, the most common cause of issues is tangled hair. As a result, water drains very slowly or not at all.
Fortunately, this situation can be easily resolved, and you can likely handle it yourself. If you're not up for it, are unsure, or the problem is more complex, don't hesitate to contact professional plumbers who find something like this a breeze. We have daily experience with clogged sinks and drains and, of course, the necessary professional equipment.
We understand that clogged drains often require immediate solutions. That's why we have a 24/7 dispatch for emergency situations. Don't hesitate to call us. Our professional craftsmen will be at your place within 60 minutes.
You can often fix a clogged sink drain or clogged sink yourself in many cases. How to do it?
Mechanical - First, try to remove the drain cover or screen, if installed. Often, mechanically removing accumulated impurities like hairballs is sufficient. If the clog is deeper, you can use tweezers or a wire hook to help.
Plunger - Another option is to use a rubber plunger. This works especially well if the drain is only partially clogged. Fill the sink with water and seal the overflow. This helps create the necessary suction. Use the plunger until the impurities causing the clog come out. When a whirlpool forms, it's a sign that the drain is clear.
Siphon Disassembly - If the clog is in the siphon, you'll need to disassemble it and flush it out. It's not complicated; just prepare a bucket and a rag for wastewater. While you have the siphon disassembled, check the gasket. If it's damaged or deteriorated, replace it with a new one.
Water Pressure - You can also use water pressure from a garden hose or pressure washer, or an industrial vacuum.
Plumber's Snake - The classic method is, of course, to use a plumber's snake. If you don't have one at home, you can easily buy it at a hardware store, and using it is not difficult. With it, you can reach several meters deep into the drainpipe.
Chemically - Among the proven methods is cleaning with sodium hydroxide. Pour the prescribed amount into the drain, let it sit for a few minutes, and then pour hot water.
If none of the above methods helped, or if you're not sure how to proceed, don't hesitate to call experienced professionals for help. In addition to the above-described methods, we also offer mechanical cleaning. We have the highest quality high-pressure water cleaning machines, and our plumbers have years of experience in this work.
