A boiler, like any other appliance, unfortunately has its lifespan and is not immune to wear and tear. It is natural that after a certain period of use, problems may arise, and it will be necessary to replace the boiler. In the following article, we will discuss the process of boiler replacement and provide you with useful information and tips to help you make this important decision.

Common Boiler Problems

What are the most common boiler problems, and when is it necessary to replace the boiler, and when is a minor repair sufficient? We will answer these questions in this article. Our customers most commonly encounter the following boiler issues:

Water leakage from the boiler: If your boiler has started leaking, it may be a serious malfunction. First, you need to identify the source of the leak. If it is a leak from the piping or the pressure relief valve, this issue can be repaired. However, if water is leaking directly from the boiler, it is more likely a cracked tank, and the only solution is to replace the boiler.

Water leaking from the pressure relief valve: In most boiler systems, a pressure relief valve is installed. If excessive pressure builds up in the boiler, the pressure relief valve automatically opens to release the pressure. This protects the boiler from bursting. It is normal for some water to drip from the pressure relief valve. During the heating of water, the pressure increases, and water begins to flow through the pressure relief valve, reducing the pressure in the boiler. This should not be considered a malfunction.

Lack of hot water: This situation can occur in several cases. If your boiler is more than 5 years old, it is possible that the water volume has decreased due to limescale buildup in the boiler. Of course, it can also happen that the number of people in the household has increased. In both cases, we recommend replacing the boiler. If the boiler is older than 5 years, it is not worth cleaning the limescale because no company will provide a warranty for its proper operation. If the number of people in the household has increased, the current boiler may not be sufficient to meet the hot water needs.

Boiler not heating water: There can be several reasons why a boiler has stopped performing its main and most important function - heating water. The first cause may be a problem with the electrical contactor, and the second cause may be the boiler itself. The boiler heats water using a heating element that operates based on electrical current. Precisely determining the cause requires an experienced specialist. In any of these cases, do not hesitate to contact us.
